Zelda Ruth Starr Brown, 73, of Barney, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, AR with her family by her side.
Zelda was born July 17, 1948, in Conway, Arkansas to the late James Oather and Vernell (Johnston) Starr. Zelda loved spending time with her family, painting, roller skating and clogging. She also loved helping people. She was a Christian and attended Crossroads Church of Christ in Enola, Arkansas.
Zelda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joe Brown of Barney, Arkansas and her five daughters: Lisa (Brock) Manning of Kansas City, MO, Tollea (Jay) Bartley of Mount Vernon, AR, Teilla (Steve) Bradley of Greenbrier, AR, Teilena (Shane) Keathley of Mount Vernon, AR, Tyra (Shawn) Fry of Heber Springs, one son, Joshua Brown (Gina) of Mount Vernon, AR, and one brother Hollis (Lucy) Starr of Shawnee, KS. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Fry, and her parents, James Oather and Vernell (Johnston) Starr.
Pallbearers will be her sons in-law, Brock Manning, Steve Bradley, Shane Keathley, and Shawn Fry, along with her grandsons, Dustin Bartley, Colby Keathley, Carter Jobe and Andrew Manning.
Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2021, from 6-8 pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 10 am also at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery in Barney.
