William R. Remy, 89, of Searcy, passed away February 4, 2017 at Unity Health Hospital with his wife and daughters at his side. He was born October 17, 1927 at Paris, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Estelle Keck Remy.
Mr. Remy served in the US Army and was retired from Matthews in Searcy. He had a remarkable work ethic; he was a farmer; raised cattle and blacksmithed most of his life. In his past times, he enjoyed watching westerns and reading as well as working puzzles. He lived his life by the Golden Rule of treating others as he wanted to be treated.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlena Collins and Bessie Bender; and brother, Archie Remy.
He married Dorothy Cavett Remy June 5, 1948 at West Memphis, Arkansas; she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Phyllis Remy Shepherd (Leon) of Pangburn and Rosemary Remy of Kensett; two brothers, George Remy of Cunningham, Kentucky and Roy Remy (Shirley) of Alexander, Ark.; a sister, Betty Coop of Kokomo, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours will be 12:00-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett where funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery.
