William R. (Bill) Qualls age 86 of Sheridan, peacefully went with his Savior, Wednesday August 3, 2022. He was born December 27, 1935 in Evening Shade, Sharp County AR. To the late Eldon and Christine (Smally) Qualls. One of 8 children, Bill grew up loving the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Virginia (Ward) Qualls, and one daughter Paula Patton, as well as 6 siblings.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army with the 1st Howitzer Battalion, 75th Artillery during the Berlin Crisis, and was later honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Bill retired from Halbert Pipe and Steel in North Little Rock after over 30 years as warehouse foreman. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by one sister Lorenda (Gypsy) Gardner-Meredith of Truman AR, 4 children, Jim (Chris) Henley of Sheridan AR, David (Denise) Henley of Houston, TX, Mike (Faith) Henley of Sheridan AR, and Janie Boatright of Sheridan AR.
Bill delighted in his 8 grandchildren, and especially in his 11 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm, and funeral service will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, AR with Pastor Doug Pruitt officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
