William “Bill” Poe, 79, of Judsonia, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones October 26, 2021. He was born April 11, 1942 at Brinkley, Arkansas to the late Samuel and Ollie Wheeler Poe.
Mr. Poe was a member of New Horizon International Ministries in Searcy. He enjoyed working outside and landscaping around the house. He also enjoyed working with his hands, building houses and tinkering with cars and going to car shows.
Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Although to us it all feels as if his life was too short, he had accepted his time to meet the Lord was near and he was more than prepared.
Bill worked all his life, even after his retirement either on lawns or cars and enjoyed every minute of it. He loves all things outdoors and would rarely be caught with idle hands. He loved so big and if you knew him you knew him this was plain as day to see. He took pride in helping his family, friends, and neighbors with anything they needed and always made himself available to be there for others. Bill adored his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his cat Meany who were by his side until the end. Bill served his church home throughout the years in many ways including lawn maintenance and as jack of all trades till he was physically unable to do so anymore. He loved visiting car shows with his loved one and all things family. He leaves us behind with many wonderful memories we are all grateful for.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Lou Poe; step daughter, Melinda Dhority; step son, Mike Wooten; brother, Jay Lee Wheeler; and sister, Cora Bell Wheeler.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bolding Poe; sons, Gene Poe of Judsonia and Jeff Poe (Kimla) of Pangburn; daughter, Karen Poe (Shane) of Searcy; step daughter, Jill Allen (Albert) of Judsonia; grandchildren, Jamie Clemons (Jason) of Searcy, Bryan Poe (Shivonne) of Searcy, Scotty Poe of Holly Springs, Brent Bennett (Amber) of Searcy, Holly Hodges (Tyler) of Bald Knob, Heather Asbell of Center Hill, Diane Hagar (Charles) of Searcy, Samantha Taylor (Brandon) Maumelle, and Hunter Helms of Searcy; great grandchildren, Hayle, Journie, Kyra, Hayden, Malia, Kye, and Braylon; sisters, Flora Grady of Moro, Cora Neal of Wynne, and Connie Riggins (Frank) of Memphis.
