William "Billy Ray" Lane

William Billy Ray Lane, age 71 of Rison, died, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his home. He was born November 1, 1939 in Mabscot, West Virginia, a son of the late William Earnest Lane and Helen Bishop Lane. Mr. Lane retired from Commercial Insulation Incorporated where he was a contractor, and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodwork and fishing and had a love for gospel and bluegrass music. Mr. Lane was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kay Lane; two brothers, Ricky Lane, Eddie Dean Lane; one sister, Bertha Lane.

Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Wanda Gail Branham Lane of Rison; one son, William Christopher Lane of Rison; four daughters, Barbara Diane Sanders of Hopewell, Virginia, Donna Raye Brewer of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Dacie Juanita Lane of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Karen L. Crowder of Rison; one brother, Earnest Eugene Lane of Herndon, West Virginia; one sister, Bonita Smith of Herndon, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Johnie Brewster officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are William Christopher Lane, Joshua Lee Acklin, Joseph Seth Acklin, David Jacob Acklin, Sean Michael Crowder and Skip Crowder.
