SFC William Warren Henry, Sr. USAR (Ret.), age 85, of Heber Springs went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021. He was born December 16, 1935 in Pine Bluff to the late Willie and Irene Henry. He was a retired United States Army veteran serving in Korea, and Vietnam. He was the recipient of 3 Bronze Service Stars, and specialized in Cryptography. After his retirement from the Army, he worked Civil Service for the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retiring from there after 20 years of service. In his retirement years he enjoyed working with computers and collecting music. He was a faithful member of Heber Springs Baptist Church and was very involved in the Harmony Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Katherine Henry, Maxine Sexton and two grandchildren, Justin Henry and Lauren Hymer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years LaRue Henry, children, William Henry Jr. and his wife Tamara of Batesville, Teddy Henry of White Hall, Tamara Lynn Henry of Venice Beach, CA, Lori Hymer and her husband Donny of El Dorado, Todd Swann and his wife Carolyn of Houston, TX, one brother Lester Browning of Maumelle, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Heber Springs Baptist Church 1710 AR-25 Bypass, Heber Springs, AR 72543.
Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in New Hope Cemetery in Sheridan. Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Henry.
