William "Bill" Elmer Anthony, age 82, of Vilonia, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022.
He was born February 25th, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee to Elmer and Parlee Anthony. Bill was a cross country truck driver. Bill loved bluegrass and enjoyed playing the mandolin, guitar, fiddle and Dobro.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patty Anthony of Vilonia; two sons, Leon Anthony of Inola, Oklahoma; Dallas Payne, Jr. and wife Haley of Bigelow, Arkansas; one daughter, Lorrie Trogden of Little Rock; four sisters, Joyce Barnes of Marianna, Arkansas; Carolyn Green of Moro, Arkansas; Dianne Pounds of Cabot, Arkansas; Linda Cunningham of Lumberport, West Virginia, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Anthony; mother, Parlee Anthony; son, William Elmer Anthony, Jr; grandson, Dallas "Trip" Wayne Payne, III; two sisters, Lula Mae Davis and Nola Forrest, and one brother, Bobby Allen Anthony.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 4th, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vilonia Funeral Home Chapel, 1134 Main Street Vilonia, Arkansas 72173. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 5th, 2022, at 10:00 am at Happy Hollow Baptist Church, 471 Hwy. 36, Vilonia, Arkansas 72173, with Pastor John Neal and Pastor Dustin Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia, AR.
Pallbearers for the service are Jim Jenkins, Tommy Pounds, Ken Anthony, Greg Woodward, Sam Grissom, and Zachary Anthony. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Anthony and Rayme Ellis.
