Wilburn Walker, 91, of Sheridan died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born April 10, 1917 in Grant County, a son of the late Charlie and Lillie Cotton Walker. Mr. Walker was raised in Grapevine, Arkansas and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sheridan. He was a World War II army veteran and a retired employee of the Pine Bluff Arsenal. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Morris Walker and his son W. D. Walker.
He is survived by his wife whom he married on February 24,1983, Clara Walker of Sheridan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Romie G. and Donna Walker of Cabot, Ray and Bonnie Glover of Benton, Bobbie Glover of Sheridan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Vaughn of England, Diane Rabb of Fordyce, Sharon and Rick Manuel of Pine Bluff, Carolyn and David Honeycutt of Costa Rica, New Mexico; twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Reverend Eddie Gwin and Brother Jim Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 6-8 Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are: Mike Walker, Tim Stubbs, Clay Stubbs, Michael Glover, Ray Berry, Rayvon Vailes, and Carey Stubbs. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
