Warren Wilkerson

TSgt. Vernon Warren Wilkerson, USAF (Ret.) age 85, of Sheridan, passed away on February 3, 2021. He was born June 14, 1935 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late Aubrey Warren Wilkerson and Ruth Angeline Chandler Wilkerson. He served in the United States Air Force 5th Tactical Unit, retiring in 1974 after 22 years of service. He was an avid pilot and worked as an aircraft maintenance inspector following his retirement. One of his greatest joys was working and building small aircrafts and visiting with his pilot friends at the Sheridan Airport. He also enjoyed coon hunting and he also became an author of a coon hunting book. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Madelyn Peterman Wilkerson, one brother, Conrad Wilkerson and his sisters, Sarah Simpson, Mary Lou Harris and Joyce Wilkerson.

He is survived by his son, Donnie Wilkerson (Jan), daughters, Michelle Graves (Martin), Christina Hinson (Larry), sisters, Alma Justus, Peggy Bellomy (Lindsey), Gail Damron (Orrin), numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.
