Walter A. Lloyd

Walter A. Lloyd age 64 of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at his home. He was born September 22, 1943 in Rison, a son of the late Geraldine Green Lloyd and Martin Lloyd of Rison. Mr. Lloyd attended Rison High School and retired from the Arkansas Highway Transportation Department after twenty seven years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Green Deer Club. Mr. Lloyd was a member of the Cleveland County Sheriffs Office Auxiliary and a member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Lloyd and Robert E. Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Wendy Lloyd of Pine Bluff; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula Robinson and Mark Copeland of Pine Bluff; father, Martin Lloyd of Rison; Godson, Steven Howell of Hector; brother, Jerry Lloyd of Rison; sister, Patsy Turner of Rison; seven grandchildren who love him dearly, Haley Lloyd, Alyssa Lloyd, Sarah Lloyd, Marissa Robinson, Austin Copeland, Tyler Howell and Dillon Howell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at Buie Chapel in Rison with Brother David Standridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Oscar Gerard Sr., Oscar Gerard Jr., Michael Barnett, James Hardnett, David Green, Phil Green, Ricky Neal and Anthony Prescott. Honorary pallbearers are Larry King, Roy Harris, Lacey Cothran, Travis Bell, Johnny Poss and Randy Rauls.
