Virginia Louise Weaver, 81, of Kensett passed away December 3, 2020. She was born to the late William and Regina Joyner Matthews March 28, 1939 at Judsonia, Arkansas. Virginia fell in love and married Richard L Weaver II January 26, 1957. They shared 40 years of marriage before he died May 30, 1997. Her heart was broken and she never remarried.
Along with her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two of her daughters, Virginia L Lawson and Cheryl Wilson.
A trip to the flea market, working on her crafts, knitting, and crocheting were at the top of the list of how Virginia liked to spend her time. She was a highly creative soul. She was attentive to what her loved ones enjoyed and made point to gift you what you loved. Virginia had a green thumb. She loved red roses and enjoyed her carnations because they their bloom lasted the longest. Her family will remember her as the spit fire of the family. She was stubborn and once she had her mindset she would not be moved; a trait that has been passed down to daughters and granddaughters. Virginia also loved to bird watch. Her favorites were hummingbirds and cardinals. She would spend hours on her front porch watching the hummingbirds playfully fly around the feeder. That is an image of her that her family will miss most.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Cox (Ellis) of Kensett, Melissa Passmore of Searcy, and Mary Champlin (Jimmy) of Ward; sons, Richard L Weaver III and Robert L Weaver, both of Iowa; grandchildren, John, Virginia, Chevin, Jeff, Samantha, Michael, Jamie, Ronnie, Courtney, Kristen, Matthew, Marty, Terrell, Andrea, Kelsie, and Haylie; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Larry Matthews; sisters, Debbie Salzer, Jane Cox, Joan Day, Cynthia Propes, and Geneva Fry; and a host of other family and friends who will miss her.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery at Judsonia.
