Virginia Linda Rodgers

Virginia Linda Rodgers, age 90, of Rison, passed away peacefully March 1, 2024.  She was born July 7, 1933 in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Charlie and Lillian Orton Rodgers.  Virginia loved being outdoors, she would work in her garden and flower beds, going fishing, and taking care of her beloved pets, and drawing, she was a talented artist. She was a very private woman, but loved spending time with her family and close friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six brothers, Jack H. Rodgers, Benjamin F. Rodgers, J. W. Rodgers, Charles T. Rodgers, Robert V. Rodgers, and Burt Rodgers, who passed away at the age of nine; three sisters, Okie May Rodgers, Gladis Mosier, and Helen Simpson; two nephews, Robert L. Simpson and Roger Mosier, and great nephew, Brad Rodgers and one niece, Ellen.

She is survived by one sister in law, Betty Rodgers, nieces and nephews, Jack H. Rodgers, Charles Rodgers, Burt Rodgers, Lavanda J. Doss, Tracey J. Breshears, Linda, Brenda, and Mary Ann; great nieces and nephews, Kevin W. Doss, Kimberly R. Adair, Katherin R. Bradley, Zane T. Breshears, Jackie Breshears, Ryan Breshears, Jennifer, Angie, Kelley, Brett, and Allen Wilson, and a great-great niece, Lillian Jo Bradley,  who would like to be a Veterinarian because Aunt Ginner’s love of animals, and by numerous more nieces, nephews, greats, great-greats, and great-great-great nieces and nephews, both in and out of state, and by her cat Shorty, and puppies, Wolf, Cooper and Gracie.

Pallbearers will be: Zane Breshears, Kevis Doss, Brandon Bradley, Charley Adair, Steven Adair, Ethan Adair, and Sean Carother. Honorary bearers will be: Ryan Breshears, Jake Inman, Chuck Valentine, and Dr. John Harris.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Rison.
