Virginia Lou Autrey Garrison

Virginia Jenny Lou Autrey Garrison, age 83, of Sheridan passed from this life Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Sheridan Nursing & Rehabilation center. She was born April 12, 1926 in Thiel, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Willie M. and Dolly Brashears Autrey. Mrs. Garrison was always the life of the party, and loved to have a good time. She loved music, enjoyed traveling, and was a great cook who loved cooking for her family. Mrs. Garrison was a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan and loved her church family. She went on several trips with her church family and loved the fellowship. Mrs. Garrison was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Garrison Sr.; son, Franky Tannahill; sister, Melva Harris; brother, Billy Autrey.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Paty of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Lisa Garrison of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and David Ellis of Sheridan; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Watson, Leslie (Kay) Tannahill, Keith Walters, Miles Ellis, Thurman Ellis, Clayton (Ashley) Garrison, Kimmy Garrison, all of Sheridan, and Scott (Kelly) Hix of Searcy; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Sister Beth Stegall officiating. Burial will follow at Moores Chapel Cemetery near Sheridan. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are: Roland Knighten, Mike Harris, David Paty, Carey Autrey, Craig Autrey, and Billy Joe Autrey.
