Verdie Elizabeth Reap

Verdie Elizabeth Rauls Reap, age 97 of Rison, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Greenhouse Cottages of Southern Hills Nursing Home. She was born on March 27, 1914 in Herbine, a daughter of the late Bester Moore Rauls and Zelphia Puckett Rauls. Mrs. Reap attended school at the two room school house at Herbine. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden and being with her family. Mrs. Reap loved cooking and was an excellent cook. She emphasized that you eat more than necessary. She enjoyed sewing and showed her love by doing for others. She was very independent and it was against her nature to ask for help from others. Mrs. Reap was a homemaker, and a member of Bethel Number Two Missionary Baptist Church, where she was the longest living member. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rob Reap; one grandson, Scott George Reap; four brothers, Virgil Rauls, V. O. Rauls, R. B. Rauls, Robert Lynn Rauls.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Jerry Reap of Watson Chapel; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stacy and Melvin Bradford; one great granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Bradford, all of North Little Rock.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Snell officiating. Interment will follow at Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jackie Rauls, Kelly Stewart, J. W. Gavin, J. D. Neely, Joann Long, John Pierce, James Rauls, Colby Rauls and Rafe Rauls.
