Vera Payne McClellan, age 80 of New Edinburg, died, Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren. She was born October 8, 1930 in New Edinburg, a daughter of the late William Lee Payne and Myrtle Dyer Payne McClellan. Mrs. McClellan was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Paul McClellan; one son, Jimmy Wayne McClellan; daughter, Ruby Diane McClellan; two brothers, James Oliver Payne, W. L. Payne; step father, James H. Mr. Jim McClellan; grandson, Josh Currier.
Mrs. McClellan is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Patricia McClellan of Collierville, Tennessee; two daughters, Charlotte McClellan of Garland, Texas, Sheila McClellan Currier of New Edinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Alice Payne of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren and their spouses, Madison and Kelsey McClellan of Little Rock, Clint and Nicole McClellan of Memphis, Tennessee, Jason McClellan of New Edinburg, Katie McClellan of Fayetteville; one great granddaughter, Wren Allison McClellan of Little Rock; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; her special dog, Trixie Ann McClellan.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Chris Moody and Brother Billy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Reaves Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in New Edinburg. Pallbearers are Rusty Trevathan, Rex Trammell, Floyd Brown, Coy Ray Martin, Don Triplett and Jan Kruger. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
