Vada Marie Ballard

Vada Marie Ballard, age 88 of Rison, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was born May 21, 1923 in Griffithville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Jess Huff and Ellen Voiles Huff. Mrs. Ballard was employed by Levi Strauss before her retirement and was a member of Corner Stone Church of God. She loved being around her family, working outside and quilting. Mrs. Ballard was also preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, Monroe Ballard, son, J. H. Ballard, two grandchildren, Tonia Fraley and Dayton Ballard. Mrs. Ballard is survived by one son, Charles Ballard of Rison; three daughters and sons-in-law, Edna Ballard Fix and Bob of Corona, California, Darleen Nelson and Larry of Redfield, Joyce Cullins and Curtis of Rison; one brother, Ray Huff of Michigan; four sisters, Mary Simpson of Searcy, Catherine Hopson of Russell, Doris Masters of Bull Head, Arizona, Shirley Humes of Searcy; twenty grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and forty great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visiatation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Randy Ballard, Jessie Walton, Joie Walton, Paul McCowan, Tyler Walton and Lee Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are David Ballard, and Kenny Ballard.
