Turner Joseph Nowlin

Turner Joseph Nowlin Jr., 70, of Sheridan passed away Friday, October 12, 2007 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born in Hampton, Arkansas on September 22, 1937 to the late Turner Wesley and Ruby Lee Johnson Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin was employed by International Paper Company working in finishing and shipping and was a member of the Quarter Century Club of International Paper at the Pine Bluff Mill location. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Mr. Nowlin was preceded in death by his brother, Hershel G. Nowlin; three sisters, Burnice Lutrell, Helen Scott, Juanita Swann and a son-in-law, Eddie Bush.

He is survived by one son, Turner Douglas Nowlin and wife Lisa of Pine Bluff; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Buddy West of Stuttgart, Denise Bush of Stuttgart, Rebekah Becky and Jay Davis of Sheridan, Carissa Kris and David Jones of Aberdeen; four sisters, Gladys Mitchell of Kingsland, Sue Savage of Minden Louisiana, Shirley McGann of Kingsland, Janie McBride of Hamshire, Texas; eight grandchildren, Brad and Nicole West, Stephanie Gwin, Jason and Alexis Bush, Danielle Lawson, Kaitlyn and Cheyenne Brown.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Shannon Road Baptist Church in Pine Bluff with Brother Bobby Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow at Means Cemetery in Hampton. Visitation will be from 6 8 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2007 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. (870) 942-3231.
