Troy Macell Roberts

Troy Macell Roberts, 86 of Beryl Community went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1937, to the late Arthur and Florence Simmons Roberts.

He entered the Air Force at the age of 17, achieving the rank of Master Sargent. During his time in the military, he completed two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded many air medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon retirement, he returned home to Vilonia and with his wife became owners of Beryl Community Grocery. Always a hard worker while his wife managed the store, he became a postman never missing a day of work. He enjoyed talking politics, coon hunting, and attending horse races.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters, A.L. Roberts, Vanon Dodson, Billy Jean Parker, James Roberts and Wanda Sue Robare.

Troy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patsy Goss Roberts; his daughters, Cathy Acre (Justin), Peggy Hayes (Dennis), Sharon Burgess (Steve) and son, Mike Roberts. His grandchildren, Lauren Bower, Megan Sorrels, Daniel Griffith, Austin Acre, Matthew Burgess, Samuel Griffith, and Anna Hall; and 10 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Vilonia Funeral Home in Vilonia, Arkansas with a graveside service following at Beryl Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
