Tommy Sandine age 72 of the Herbine Community near Rison, died, Sunday, June 13, 2010. He was born January 21, 1938 in Rison, a son of the late John Carl Sandine and Flora Mabel Rauls Sandine. Mr. Sandine served in the United States Army, was a retired carpenter and formerly worked at Gene Kimbrells Body Shop. He was a member of Sandine Hunting Club. Mr. Sandine was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Dude Sandine; one niece, Stella Jeanette Gray.
Mr. Sandine is survived by one son, Mark Sandine of Pine Bluff; one brother, J. L. Sandine of Monticello; two sisters, Macel Linzey of New Edinburg, Peggy Cullipher Mahurin of Texarkana, Arkansas; longtime friend and companion, Barbara Romine.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Brother Doney Blackerby officiating. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are nephews, Ricky Sandine, Chris Sandine, Randy Linzey, Jimmy Cullipher, Ken Cullipher, Keith Sandine and Ronnie Sandine.
