Tommy Lee Brown

Tommy Lee Brown Jr., 69, of Kensett, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at UAMS Medical Center.
He was born in Augusta, Arkansas on March 22, 1946 to the late Tommy Brown Sr. and Armenta Washington Brown.  At an early age he joined the Centennial Baptist Church in Kensett where his father was a deacon.  In 1971 he began attending Arnold Chapel CME Church (Arnold Chapel) and currently attended there.
Tommy is a graduate of White County Training School in Searcy.  After high school he attended Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas and majored in psychology and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and played intramural sports.  After college he moved to Dallas and was employed by Sanger-Harris.  He later moved back to central Arkansas and was employed by Eaton Corporation in Searcy for nearly 30 years and retired in 2007.  He was also a small business owner for over 20 years, a builder and general contractor.
On December 26, 1971, Tommy was united in Holy Matrimony to Vivren Hart.  They were married until she passed away on December 14, 2005.  To this union their only child, Shannon Jamar Brown (Jay) was born.  The family shared many wonderful years together.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Armenta Brown; brothers, James and Jimmy Brown; and sister, Luetricia Decker.
Survivors include a son, Shannon Jamar Brown; daughters, Jackie, Lateaikia, and Natashia; brother, Johnny Brown; sisters, Jacqueline Jones and Fannie Monday. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visiting hours are 5-7 p.m. Friday May 22, at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.  Home Going Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Arnold Tabernacle CME Church in Kensett with burial following at Crow Cemetery.
