Thomas Hershel Wingard

Thomas Hershel Wingard, age 84, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2022.  He was born June 16, 1938 in Grapevine, AR to the late Charlie and Willie Mae Wright Wingard. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed watching Shepherd's Chapel and spending time with family and friends.  Thomas was a Veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Oris Wingard, Slyvia Newton, Gene Wingard, Maxine Moore, Lola Loveless, Clint Wingard and one grandson, Nathan Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Velma Young Wingard, children, Wrenetta Wingard, Gerald Wingard, Deral Wingard (Cindy), and Janeice Allen (Mark), nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2022 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Ramick Cemetery in Grapevine.
