Terry Lee Mayhan, Sr

Terry Lee Mayhan Sr. 81, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed away peacefully on December 8, 2015 with his loving daughters by his side. Terry was born in England, Arkansas on April 19, 1934 to Virgie Harness Mayhan and Roy Lee Mayhan. He attended elementary school in England and Plum Bayou where he helped his beloved grandfather tend to cows and work the farm. He was a 1951 graduate of White Hall High School. He was an accomplished athlete and played baseball for the Pine Bluff Judges Division D Pro league.

He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and held a highly classified special clearance position as a cryptographer within the communications division. In his early years, Terry had an adventurous spirit where he loved to race stock cars and won many awards. He had a love for music and also enjoyed water skiing, fishing and hunting. He was listed in the Guiness book of World Records for building a paper machine in record time. He retired from Brown and Root Construction as a Millwright Superintendent. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Sylvia Henry Mayhan.

Mr. Mayhan is survived by 4 children, Terry L. (Chip) Mayhan Jr., Sheree Mayhan Alt (Mark), Laurie Mayhan Speights (Eddie) and Leslie Carole Mayhan, as well as 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife Mary Alice Mayhan.

A private memorial service will be held at noon on December 19th in Memorial Park Cemetery at White Hall Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care 3135 W. 28th Ave. Pine Bluff AR. 71603. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
