Shirley Neal Mitchell

Shirley Ann Neal Mitchell, age 77, of Winder, Georgia, formerly of Cleveland County, died Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born, March 6, 1936 in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Ulyss Ray Neal and Effie Gates Neal. Mrs Mitchell graduated of Rison High School in 1954 and attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She was a retired beautician and volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a Baptist. Mrs. Mitchell loved traveling, painting and spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Finley and Joyce Porter. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by three children, Lesa Berryhill of Abbeville, South Carolina, Joseph Mitchell of Bethlehem, Georgia and Brent Mitchell of Warren; brother, Ricky Neal of Kingsland; sisters, Pam Lunsford and Linda Neal, both of Rison; two grandchildren, Carmen Hanney of Austin, Texas and Carlye Mitchell of Warren. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother John Fulmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
