Samuel Cornelius Post

Samuel “Sam” “Nealy” Post, age 92 of Kingsland, passed away peacefully at his home June 30, 2024.  He was born July 1, 1931 in New Edinburg, AR to the late John H. and Estelle Sanders Post. He was a retired school teacher, but would still substitute any chance he could. Sam was a great story teller, he enjoyed telling his “old stories” to his many friends and family.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and fishing with his family, and he never met a stranger.  His family and friends were a big part of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Baby, James, Jabie, and Charles Post, all of Kingsland.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna Jaggers Post, children, Bill Post and wife Pat, of Kingsland, and Cornelia Barnes and husband Gary, of Fordyce, grandchildren, Laura Smith and husband Jason, of Rudy, AR, Adam Barnes and wife Katie of Warren, and Sam Post of Gallup, New Mexico, great-grandchildren, Dylan Post, McKenzie Post, and Bethany Barnes.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.  Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison.
