Sammie (Laffoon) Mcdonald

Sammie Laffoon McDonald, 86, of Kensett, went to be with the Lord Jesus August 20, 2018 at Unity Health in Searcy.  She was born August 1, 1932 at Rosebud to the late Sam and Lorene Oliver Laffoon.
Mrs. McDonald was a graduate of Kensett High School and a member of Searcy First Assembly of God.  She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother as well as a hardworking strong wife.  She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Gauthier and Nancy Piercy; and one brother, Bobby Gene Laffoon.
She married Max McDonald December 23, 1949 at Kensett; he survives.  She is also survived by two sons, Clifford McDonald (Rebecca) of Mt. Vernon and Richard McDonald (Darlene) of Bradford; five grandchildren, Charlotte Fox (Keith), Tracy Breeden (Anthony), Caleb McDonald (Becky), Corri Chism (Alan) and Leandra Crook (Todd); seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, David Laffoon (Suzanne) of Searcy and Randle Laffoon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister, Tamara Laffoon of Judsonia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.  Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 24 at Searcy First Assembly of God with burial following at Kensett Cemetery.
