Roy L. Burrough

Roy L. Burrough, age 90, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 27, 2012. He was born October 22, 1922 in New Edinburg, a son of the late Jimmy Lee Burrough and Martha Doss Burrough. Mr. Burrough served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War; he also served in the Army National Guard. He retired from the NCTR where he was an electrician. Mr. Burrough was a past president of the AFGE, was a former executive board member of the Arkansas AFLCIO, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Oak Park Free Will Baptist Church, where he had taught the men's Sunday school class and was a trustee. Mr. Burrough was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sheldia Burrough Johnson; three grandchildren, Lashea Hubbard, Alan Hubbard and Tracey Watters; three brothers, Alfred Burrough, Rufus Burrough and Jim Burrough; two sisters, Lavern Zig and Eva Humphries. Mr. Burrough is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Aline Hollis Burrough of Pine Bluff; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diane Burrough of Pine Bluff; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Ray Barraclough of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Steve Burrough Jr, Josh Burrough, Stacey Barraclough Davis and Ryan Barraclough: eleven great grandchildren, Lauren, Cameron, Nathan, Tiffany, Caitlin, Melody, Rayden, Bradley, Zachary, Laura Kate and Londyn. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at Ralph Robinson Funeral Home with Brother Brian Kesterson officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Ralph Robinson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 Camden Road Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
