Rose Kathryn Harris

Rose Kathryn Harris age 75 of the Toledo Community near Rison, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Gardner Nursing Home in Star City. She was born October 15, 1934 in Rison, a daughter of the late Willis Martin and Clara Cash Martin. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Davis.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband Sam Harris of Toledo, whom she married on August 15, 1950; son, Danny Harris of Rison; daughter, Donna Ward and husband Carl of Natchitoches, Louisiana; son-in-law, Benny Davis of Rison; two sister, Hazel Lee of Gurdon, Francis Daniel of Clarksville, Texas; five grandchildren, Mickey Davis and wife, Allison, J. J. Bowlin and husband, Jimmy, all of Rison, Ashley Ward and Jonathan Ward, both of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Shannon Harris of Fayetteville; five great grandchildren, Sarah Kay Bowlin, Lindsey Bowlin, Trey Bowlin, Caleb Davis and Madalynn Davis, all of Rison, Makayla Ward of Gray, Louisiana and Lillian Morris of Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison with Brother Clarence Fell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
