Ronnie Lee "Rog" Rogers, age 49, of Rison died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Rogers was born on November 4, 1965 in Rison, a son of Eddie Rogers and the late Vivian Kaye Ratliff Rogers. He was a 1985 graduate of Rison High School and was of the Assembly of God faith. Mr. Rogers was previously employed with T & N Electric, Jefferson Electric and Whittington Green Logging. Ronnie was noted for his fishing abilities, which he caught the largest bass in the tenth annual Budweiser Big Bass Tournament and claimed $20,500.00 in prize money in June of 1998. He fished in Pool B of the tournament on Friday at Post Lake near Dumas where he landed the winning 8.29 pound bass. He loved the sport of hunting and fishing every opportunity given, he was just as happy fishing in his aluminum boat as others in their fancy boats. Survivors are his daughter, Paige Elizabeth Rogers of Rison; father, Eddie Rogers and wife, Esther of Kingsland; brothers, Scotty Rogers and Steven Rogers both of Pine Bluff; step-brother, Olen Murdock of White Hall; sister, Rhonda Kaye Oglesby of Wausau, Florida; step-sister, Tleatha Spencer of Kingsland and several family and friends. A memorial service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Buie Funeral Home chapel at Rison with Reverend Harry Puterbaugh officiating.
