Ronald “Buddy” Joe Hammond, age 72 of Stuttgart, passed away January 12, 2024, in Little Rock. He was born October 15, 1951, in Malvern, AR to the late William A. Hammond and Margie Simmons Hammond. Buddy retired from Producers Rice Mill in Stuttgart where he worked as a millwright. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of McGarity Hunting Club. He enjoyed listening to country and gospel music and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Stuttgart. He got his nickname because he never met a stranger because he loved to talk.
He is survived by his loving wife Beverly Hammond of Stuttgart, his children Chad Hammond (Mechelle) of Poyen, Devon Hammond of Malvern and stepchildren Tammy Eberhart, Sheila Ward and William Ward, of Augusta, Georgia, and Rita Dunn and Lisa Maddox (Jimmy) of Bentonia, Mississippi, and siblings, Becky Williams of Leola, and Penny Rico (Juan) of Bloomburg, Texas, nephews, Todd Riggan (Laurie) of Malvern and Tyler Hodge (Raven) of Atlanta, Texas and granddaughter Sara Hammond of Poyen and numerous step grandchildren and extended family and friends. Pallbearers will be Jesse Taylor, Juan Rico, Tyler Hodge, Jimmy Maddox, Victor Ball, Braden Ball, Louis Williams.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery in Leola.
