Robert Rodgers

Robert Rodgers, age 87 of the Randall community near Rison, died, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home. He was born February 17, 1923 in the Randall Community, a son of the late Charlie Rodgers and Lillian Orton Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired logger and farmer, and a Baptist. Mr. Rodgers was a devoted caregiver for his loving wife for several years.

Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Margie Kesterson Rodgers, whom he married on June 17, 1954; son and daughter-in-law, Burt and Ann Rodgers; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Mark Ray; sister, Virginia Rodgers all of Randall; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Don Breshears and Brother Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mark Ray, Allen Wilson, Brett Rodgers, Jack Rodgers, Harrell Wilson, Frank Wilson, John Speer and Troy Harden.
