Robert Rodgers

Robert Rodgers, age 87 of the Randall community near Rison, died, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home. He was born February 17, 1923 in the Randall Community, a son of the late Charlie Rodgers and Lillian Orton Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired logger and farmer, and a Baptist. Mr. Rodgers was a devoted caregiver for his loving wife for several years.

Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Margie Kesterson Rodgers, whom he married on June 17, 1954; son and daughter-in-law, Burt and Ann Rodgers; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Mark Ray; sister, Virginia Rodgers all of Randall; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Don Breshears and Brother Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mark Ray, Allen Wilson, Brett Rodgers, Jack Rodgers, Harrell Wilson, Frank Wilson, John Speer and Troy Harden. Memorials may be made to Hospice Angels, 3801 Camden Road, Chapel Village 1, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
