Robert L. Rauls

Robert Lynn Rauls age 90 of the Herbine Community near Rison died, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Drew Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 24, 1918 in Herbine, a son of the late Bester Moore Rauls and Zelphia Ann Puckett Rauls. Mr. Rauls was a farmer and a retired mail carrier. He was a member of Free Hill Free Will Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Mr. Rauls was also preceded in death by three brothers, R. B. Rauls, V. O. Rauls and Virgil Rauls.

Mr. Rauls is survived by his wife of seventy two years, Geneva McClellan Rauls of Herbine; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Roy Kirkland of West Memphis; sister, Verdie Reap of Herbine; two grandchildren, Susan Newsom of Knoxville, Tennessee, Lee Kirkland of West Memphis; four great grandchildren, Ann Newsom, Elizabeth Newsom, Kaelyn Kirkland and Byron Kirkland.

Funeral services are 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Buie Chapel with Reverend Billy Wilson and Dr. Cecil Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Pallbearers are Larry Crutchfield, James Rauls, Rafe Rauls, Jeff Rauls, George Reap, Lee Stewart, Ronnie Puckett and David Herrington. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Stewart and Roy Kirkland. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to service. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
