Craig Potter, age 81, of the "212" Community near Rison died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Potter was born January 24, 1934 in Medford, Massachusetts, a son of the late Richard E. Potter and Beatrice Avis Baker Potter. During his military career Gunnery Sergeant Potter proudly served his country in the Korean and Vietnam War. He served four years in the United States Army and then served sixteen years with the United States Marines, before retiring. Craig retired from United Water in Pine Bluff after his military service. He was a member of Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated lots of time and love into building of The Family Life Center. Mr. Potter is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bobbie J. Reed Potter.
Survivors include his son, Ken Potter and wife, Shannon of Rison; daughters, Donna G. Duncan of Rison, Patricia J. Keegan of Hensley; son-in-law, Marty J. Keegan of Yankton, South Dakota; grandchildren, Tony Lee Duncan of Rison, Billy J. Duncan of Clovis, New Mexico, Kody Keegan of Hensley, Kelsey Keegan of Hensley, Greyson Potter of Rison, Layne Potter of Rison; great grandchildren, Jeremiah Duncan, Samantha Duncan and Gabrielle Duncan.
A memorial service with full military honors will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Rison with Brother John Fulmer officiating. Memorials can be made to Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church Life Center. Cremation arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
