Robert ‘Don’ Mulherin was born on January 16th, 1943 in Jasmine, AR to Robert Lee and Lillie Mae (Brimer) Mulherin. Don passed peacefully at his home in Kensett, AR on June 29th, 2024.
Don graduated from Griffithville High School in 1961 and proudly served his country during a tour in Vietnam. He considered this his patriotic duty to serve our country.
After his discharge, he moved to Chicago, IL and served his community there and in Evanston as a fireman for many years. One of Don’s biggest thrills was driving the back end of the ladder truck during this time. Upon returning home to Arkansas, he and his brother formed a business, M & M Roofing and Siding, and ran it together until their retirement. Don spent the last half of his life passionately helping recovering alcoholics.
Don was preceded in death by: his parents; the love of his life for 34 years, Suzanne Karl Mulherin; his favorite sister, Linda Mulherin Boggan, and her husband, James Bruce Boggan Sr.; three nephews - Glendon ‘Leon’ Mulherin Jr., Mark Andrew Mulherin, and Robert Wittney Mulherin.
He is survived by his daughter by heart, Laurie Bonner of North Carolina; son by heart, Nick Reyes of IL; and granddaughter, Kelly (Tim) Marshall of North Carolina and grandson, Zack Bonner. Don is survived by: two brothers, Glendon Leon Mulherin Sr. (Melanie) of Anniston, AL and Roger Dell Mulherin (Regena) of Kensett, AR; his special niece, Connie Mulherin Baumgarn (Mike),; nieces, Paula Mulherin, Gianna Mulherin and Meghan Marie Mulherin Shamroe (Jeremy); and nephews, Jimmy Boggan (Pam), Richard Mulherin, and Shawn Mulherin. Great grands, Nick, Katie, Ben, and Allie Marshall. Don is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
