Robert Childress

Robert Childress, a beloved member of the community, passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 80 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on August 11, 1944, in New Edinburg, Arkansas, Robert was the son of Russell and Laura Lewis Childress who predeceased him.

Throughout his life, Robert was known for his kind and welcoming nature, making others feel at ease with his warm presence. With a great sense of humor, he had the remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and commitment. After his military service, Robert retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., where he contributed his skills and made lasting friendships.

Robert is survived by his devoted family, including his sons Chris Childress, Steven Childress, and Stan Childress; daughters Kimberly Reinert and Brandy Frisbee; sons-in-law William Raines and RJ Hardin; and grandchildren Austin Childress, Amber Bailey, Shade Orton, Vanessa Orton, Steven Frisbee, and Grace Frisbee. Additionally, he cherished his great-grandchildren Zachary Raymond Welsh, Jr., Desmond Welsh, and Levi Fisher. Robert also shared a special bond with his siblings, including his brothers Tommy and Jimmy Childress, along with sister-in-law Kay Childress.

Visitation services for Robert will be held on January 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, Arkansas. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
