Rick Matthews

Rick Matthews, 65, of Pangburn, died September 13, 2018 at Unity Health.  He was born September 4, 1953 at Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Ronald and Wilma Hubbard Matthews.
He was a Pangburn native and a 1971 graduate of Pangburn High School.  He dedicated over 30 years of his life to public service of the community, serving on the city council, fire department, and the Pangburn Jaycee 4th of July Celebration.  He was self-employed as a general contractor for many years who was very meticulous about his work.
He is survived by a daughter, Heather Gifford of Pangburn; son, Josh Matthews (Tyler) of Pangburn; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Kayley, Britney, Dakota, Aiden, Alyssa, Evan, Emma, and Koal; two great grandchildren, Logan and Cooper; four sisters, Rhonda Howell of Searcy, Robin Chancy (Rohnal) of Florida, Roseanna Colvin (Robert) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Jimmie Hayes (Verl) of Mississippi; one brother, Joe James of Searcy; as well as many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Sullivan Funeral Care.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow services.  Interment of his ashes will be at a later date.
