Rebecca Ann Walls

Rebecca Ann (Niswander) Walls, 76, of Judsonia departed this life on November 15, 2020. “Becky” was born on April 22, 1944 at Searcy, Arkansas to the late Richard W and Lois L Niswander.

Along with her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Smith and brother Michael Niswander.

Becky was a dedicated mother, and she treasured her children embracing every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mamaw. Once you met her, she then took you in as one of her own. It did not matter if you were not actually born into the family, she was “everyone’s mamaw.” After more than twenty years of service, she retired from ITT-Higbie in Searcy. Becky’s family will always recall the holiday celebrations and get togethers she would have in her home. Becky was kindhearted woman that loved all creatures. She could often be found outside in the yard filling the bird feeders, so she could watch the birds and even a few squirrels eat or caring for her beloved cats. Cats always seemed to know just who to come to get a warm bed and full belly and she cared for probably hundreds over the years.

Becky was a military kid, while her family moved around a lot as a child, they returned home to raise a family. This is where she met the love of her life and she married her high school sweetheart on August 24, 1962 at Kensett.  Together they shared 58 years of matrimony.

Becky is survived by her husband, Derward Walls of Judsonia; one son, David Walls of Beebe; two daughters Debbie Geaslin (Dave) of Searcy, Dianna English (Billy Oliver) of Judsonia; five grandchildren, Jacklyn Prince (Stephen), Jessica Briggs (Kevin), Jennifer Swafford (Ethan), David Michael Walls, and Taylor Walls; three great-grandchildren, Connor Prince, Grayson Prince, and Landon Briggs; one nephew Scott Smith; and her faithful friend, a cat named Henry.

A private memorial will be held at a later date due to COVID-19. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Searcy Humane Society 112 W Johnston Rd, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.
