R. L. "Buster" Cole

R. L. "Buster" Cole, age 85, a life-long resident of the Rowell community went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home in Rowell. He was born December 26, 1930 in Rowell, a son of the late Frank and Ella Hill Cole. On September 26, 1953 Mr. Cole married his babe, Betty Ann Reed. He served with the United States Marines during the Korean War. Buster was owner-operator of Cole Farms along with his wife, Betty for over sixty-two years and a retired employee of the Cotton Belt Railroad. He enjoyed raising his cattle and delivering feed to his customers. Buster loved his family, especially riding his grandchildren around the farm in his mule. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and greeting them as only "Buster Cole" could do. Buster loved watching the Arkansas Razorbacks play with his daughter, Brenda. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Melvin Cole and one great granddaughter, Lynleigh Grace Jacks.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Ann Reed Cole of Rowell; two daughters, Donna Jacks and husband, Randy of Rowell, Brenda Richardson and husband, Jimmy of Rowell; four grandchildren, Kim Ann Nelson, Keith Jacks, Julie Sandine and husband, Chris, Bryan Richardson and wife, Rebecca; two step-grandchildren, Wade Jacks, Karan Stewart and husband, Lee; five great grandchildren, Peyton and Greyson Sandine, Colby Jacks, Brody and Ella "Miss L" Richardson; three step great grandchildren, Madisyn and Caleb Stewart and Tyler Jacks.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Center Missionary Baptist Church in Rowell with Brother Doney Blackerby and Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Rowell Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service at the church. Pallbearers are Bryan Richardson, Keith Jacks, Chris Sandine, Zeke Reed, Chris Reed, Seth Reed, Lee Stewart and Wade Jacks; honorary pallbearers are the members of Rowell Deer Club. Memorials may be made to Rowell Cemetery Association. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
