Phillip R. Gardner

Phillip R. Gardner, age 60 of Pine Bluff died, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 14, 1951 in Pine Bluff, a son of the late Russell Gardner and Louise Reed Smith. Mr. Gardner was a long time service station attendant and enjoyed his mechanic work. He was a Christian. Mr. Gardner was also preceded in death by uncles, Tommie Wilson Reed, James Austin, "Buddy" Reed and Windell Lockwood; aunt, Inez Merrill. Mr. Gardner is survived by two brothers, James Smith and Lloyd Smith, both of Pine Bluff; one sister, Linda Mauk of Olive Hill, Kentucky; aunts and uncles, Lois Ashcom, Bertha and Harry Wasoff all of Dallas, Sarah Lockwood of Mabelvale, Leon Reed of Calmer and John Reed of Star City. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Dewayne Roper officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to service. Pallbearers are Bill Evans, Ricky Reed, Tracy Allen Reed, Billy Reed and Freddy Lemons. Honorary pallbearers are Harry K. Wasoff, John E. Reed and Leon Reed. Memorials may be made to the donor's charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
