Peggy Sue Davis Herrin, 85, of Searcy, departed this life surrounded by her family, and went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born November 12, 1938, in Searcy, the daughter of the late Collet Marion Davis and Genevieve Osborne Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Young Herrin and her sister, Marion Davis Craig. Ms. Peggy was employed by International Shoe Factory of Searcy and Timex. She loved to decorate her home, it always looked like a picture from Home & Gardens. She also attended Harding University and was a graduate of Searcy High School. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church in Searcy.
Ms. Peggy is survived by her children, Lenee Herrin Brown (David) of Beebe and James Gregory Herrin (Connie) of Searcy, three grandchildren Camile Brown Stout (Rob) of Floyd, Nicholas Brown (Holly) of Beebe, Hope Huntsman (Jordan) of Searcy; three step-grandchildren Chris Crawford, Caleb Crawford (Shay), Caleigh Rambo (Drew); six great-grandchildren Emmie and Emmaline Stout of Floyd, Matthew and Genevieve Brown of Beebe, Colton Herrin and Etta Huntsman of Searcy; six step-great-grandchildren, Aubrey Pruitt, Christin, Brayden and Case Crawford, Chad Martin and Reece Rambo; also numerous family and friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses at Providence Assisted Living, Unity Health, and Arkansas Hospice. A special thanks to her sister-in-law Phyllis Herrin for always being there and supporting her family.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at First Assembly of God in Searcy. Interment will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery.
