Paul A. Wright

Paul A. Wright, age 74, of Rison died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home. He was born July 31, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Arthur E. and Geneva Kent Wright. Mr. Wright served in the United States Army, in the 101 Airborne Division as a Sergeant with B Company, 502 Infantry. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, North America Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Wright was a volunteer for various fund raisers, supporting the American Little League of Pine Bluff, Wesley United Methodist Church and Arkansas Children's Hospital. He owned and operated a barbeque catering service before his retirement. Mr. Wright was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. He was preceded by his parents and his wife, Dorothy Wright.

Mr. Wright is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul M. and April Peacock Wright of Jefferson; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommie Eugene and Marylyn Wright of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren, Laura Gene Wright, Matthew Tyler Wright; and special thanks to caregivers, Gary and Carla Langrell.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Ben Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery at Grapevine. There will be a visitation from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Paul McDougal, Bobby Cathcart, Jerry Cathcart, Gary Duncan, "Moe" Kennon Stanley Slocum III and Leonard Hankins. Honorary pallbearers are John G. Smiley, Bo Reed, Bobby Kents, Joe Pat Davis and Billy Ellis. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
