Sheridan

Oris Clayton Reed, age 95, of Sheridan went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. He was born September 26, 1925 in Grant County to the late Havis and Lucy Garner Reed. Mr. Reed proudly served his country during WWII serving in the US Navy in the South Pacific. Following his service, he worked as a truck driver for over 40 years.  He was a 32 Degree Mason and was past Master of his Lodge in Benton. He enjoyed spending time on the water, listening to bluegrass music, he never met a stranger and loved small children and animals.  He was also a faithful member of First Southern Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Alice Reed, his son, Carroll Reed, daughter, Deborah Grubbs, step-children, Mary Stephenson and her husband Steve, Gwinna McWilliams, grandchildren, Shannon Boone, Kimberly Mantia, Jessica Jones, Brian Mizer, numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery.
