Orie Lee Guillory

Orie Lee Guillory, age 68, of Rison passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his home.  He was born on February 7, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Jay C. and Ora Mildred Smith Guillory.  Mr. Guillory was a retired bridge crew foreman with the Cotton Belt Railroad.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of Simmons Hunting Club, where they told many tales and road many backroads.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lane and a brother, Jay C. Guillory Jr.

Survivors include his five siblings, Jane Carroll Smith (Robert) of St. Landry, Louisiana, Carlton Guillory (Donna) of Little Rock, Mary Woods of Pine Bluff, Bertha Giller of Star City, Norma Mays (Bill) of Rison and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison with Reverend Leonard Hodges officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the service at the cemetery, beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Members of Simmons Hunting Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Mr. Guillory’s family would like to express a special thank you to his caregivers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenwood Cemetery Association or the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
