Oma Mae Brown, age 90 of Woodlawn formerly of Kingsland, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren. She was born April 10, 1919, a daughter of the late George and Linnie Nutt West. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bud Brown; two brothers, Glenn West and William West; and an infant sister.
Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Dorothy Brown of New Edinburg; Albert Jr. and Janie Brown of Scotland; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel and Erwin Dyer of New Edinburg, Marilyn and Jack Rodgers of Rison, Barbara and Dale Nichols of Crystal River, Florida; two sisters, Georgia Summit of Ukia, California, and Marie Ingalls of Carthage; four sisters-in-law, Ruby Barnett, Bonnie Dawson, Thelma West and Bobbie Brown; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, a very special granddaughter, Sherry Crouse, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Billy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery in Kingsland. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
