Novella Hedge Carroll, 90, of Searcy passed from this life peacefully October 4, 2020, surrounded by her family and beautiful spiritual hymns. She was born Mar 1, 1930 to the late Leslie Edward and Thelma Davis Hedge at Camden, Tennessee. She married Stuart Jay Carroll February 19, 1949 at Blytheville; they shared thirty-seven years of matrimony before he passed away.
Along with her parents and late husband, Novella was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Lynn Carroll; grandson Kody Davis; sisters, Gladiola Morgan, Ulala Baggett, Hester Marie Hedge, Edna Mae Morton; and 2 brothers Leslie Edward Hedge, and James Kenneth Hedge.
Novella was known as a caregiver to anyone who needed a place to rest their head or food to fill their stomach. She took care of her mother for the last ten years of her life. Novella kept a personal calendar with everyone’s birthdays in it. You could count on a birthday card to come in the mail from her right up to the very end of her life. She was also known for her for fried chicken and her pumpkin pie. Her sons in law made a special request for those items upon their visits to her. She loved word search puzzles, and her time in her recliner surrounded by family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Glenda Warren of Searcy, Denise Hall (Jerry) of St. Charles, Missouri, and Annett Moneymaker (Charles) of Searcy; sons, Glen Stuart Carroll of West Helena and Gordon Edward Carroll (Sherri) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Laura, Chrissy, Terry, Felicia, Craig, Missy, Jason, Bryan, Jennifer, Sarah, Chris, Josh, Rachel, Crystal, and CR; thirty-four great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; along with many other family and friends who adored her.
Visitation is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. The family requests you wear facial masks as they want to protect the people they love.
