Neomi Lavetra Ashcraft

Neomi LaVetra Ashcraft, age 87 of Rison, died, Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was born October 18, 1936 in Rison, a daughter of the late Luther W. Brown and Marie Kea Brown. Mrs. Ashcraft was a seamstress, having worked for the sewing factory for several years. Mrs. Ashcraft was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ashcraft, brothers, Luther Brown, Myles Brown and A.J. Brown.

Mrs. Ashcraft is survived by her children, Joe E. Ashcraft, Sheila Marie Rushing (Eddie), John Paul Ashcraft (Becky), Richard Allen Ashcraft, Calvin Ray Ashcraft (Mary), Cynthia Lynn Miller (Travis), and Dona Ruth Hankins (Randy), sister, Patsy Boyd, sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Johnie Brewster officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to services.
