Myrna Lois Houy

Myrna Lois Houy, 82, of Sheridan, AR died on May, 19, in White Hall.

Mrs. Houy was born Nov., 15, 1934 in Burnet, Texas to Melvin W. and Lois Fry Kincheloe. She graduated from Burnet High School in 1952, attended two years at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and received her Tourism and Travel certificate from Austin Community College.

She spent most of her life in Texas, but she also lived in Illinois for a year, and lived in Arkansas for the last decade.

Mrs. Houy was a voracious reader, and she loved crossword puzzles and knitting.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sheridan.

Mrs. Houy is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lois Kincheloe, her sister Pat Kincheloe, her husband Sidney W. Houy, her son Brian Thompson, her daughter Kim Babbette Newton, her great grandson, Carter Bryant and grandson Kurt Milliorn.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Durham of Memphis, Tennessee, sister Diane Craddock of Vilonia, Arkansas, daughters Cindy and her husband Mark Kneen of Garden Valley, Idaho, Shannon and her husband Robert Escamilla of Kempner, Texas, Lisa and her husband Blackie Striegler of Hamilton, Texas, son-in-law Charles Newton of Pueblo, Colorado and daughter-in-law Nancy Thompson of Burnet, Texas, grandchildren Tyler Newton, Raegan Brooke Bryant, Kristin Milliorn, Natalie Thompson, Hunter Newton, Lance Holloway, Drew Escamilla, Chase Holloway, Matthew Escamilla, Samantha Escamilla, Taylor Thompson and Tanner Newton, and 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan on Saturday, May, 27 at 11 am. Mrs. Houy will be buried in Burnet, Texas. A graveside service will be held in Burnet at an undetermined date. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
