Mildred Bernice Douglas

Mildred “Bernice” Douglas of Sterlington, LA went to be with her lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the age of 89.  She was born April 2, 1932 in Rison to the late Veo and Myrtle Akins. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Douglas, Sr., her parents Veo & Myrtle Akins Reaves, two brothers, two sisters, a son and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Douglas (Pat), LeRoy Douglas, Jr.(Andrea),  four daughters, Gail Osburn (Archie), Wanda Axsom (Rusty), Betty Jones (Levon), Debra Axsom, 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Axsom, Jason Davenport, William “Buck” Axsom, Matt Loveless, Mason George and Caleb Castleberry with Levon Jones & LeRoy Douglas, Jr. serving as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.  Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.  Arrangements by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
