Mildred Harris Brown

October 29, 1925 — November 12, 2011

Mildred I. Brown age 86 of Rison, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 12, 2011 at St. John's Place Nursing Home in Fordyce. She was born October 29, 1925 in Prattsville, a daughter of the late Elmer Harris and Elsie Holiman Harris. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a faithful minister's wife. She was a member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty seven years, Brother James T. Brown; one daughter, Martha Brown; one brother and one sister. Mrs. Brown is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Gina Brown of Woodlawn; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Jimmy Jones of Thornton, Mary and Gaylon Green, Virginia "Shorty" and Luther Drye, all of Rison; two brothers, James Arthur Harris of Pearl River, Louisiana, Aubrey "Pete" Harris of Bois D`Arc, Missouri; two sisters, Kathryn "Kitty" Duncan of Cabot, Armetha Harris of Emmett, Idaho; six grandchildren and their spouses, Richard and Lisa Jones, Aeren and Josh Walls, Steve and Cori Drye, Thomas and Amber Drye, Drew Brown, Megan Brown; six great grandchildren, Lesley, Haley, Travis, James, Jacob and Jackson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home with Brother Paul L. Martin and Brother Steve Drye officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Brown's home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Angels. Pallbearers are Thomas Drye, Richard Jones, Drew Brown, Carter Taylor, Jimmy Earl Brown, Thomas Brown and Josh Walls. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
