Melba Jean “Jeannie” Anderson passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Monday, July 8, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 26, 1949.

As a young girl, Jeannie moved to California, where she eventually married her husband, Don.  Together, they raised their family in Redwood Valley, California, where she spent most of her life.

Jeannie is lovingly remembered by her family.  She is survived by her three children: Donnie Anderson and his wife Tracy; Shelly Lanning and her husband Tal, and her two cherished Grandchildren, Emily Lanning, also known as Grandma’s Baby Girl, and Cash Lanning and his wife Whitney; Kimberly Silveira and her husband John, with their daughter Ally.  Jeannie was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, twins Benjamin & Eloise Lanning. She is also mourned by her sisters, Cynthia Ponce & Sheila Lloyd, and her beloved Aunt Kathy.  Jeannie also leaves behind many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Don Anderson, her parents, Dick & Marie Lloyd, and her sister, Teresa Farris.

Jeannie dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker and raising her children.  Later on in life, she found her passion working as an Evidence Technician at the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department, where she was loved by her coworkers and valued for her efficiency.  She retired from her position happily, having made a significant impact on her colleagues and community.

Her life was filled with love and joy, and she brought happiness to many peoples lives. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and friends.

A memorial service will be held in Griffithville, Arkansas on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Dogwood United Methodist Church at 1pm.

A second Celebration of Life for her California friends and family will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2pm at Redwood Valley Community Church.
