Mary Beth (Berry) Clark

January 11, 1961 — January 2, 2022

Rison

On Sunday morning, January 2, 2022, our beloved Mary Beth Clark was called to her heavenly home by the Lord.  Although the suddenness of her passing has left those of us who were blessed with knowing her in sorrow and turmoil, we choose to take comfort in the surety that we will see our precious Mary Beth again one day.

Born on January 11, 1961 to Harold Wayne Berry and Mary Lou Glover, Mary Beth was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1979, where she was a proud Zebra cheerleader and a gymnast.  She attended college at the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and received her nursing degree from JRMC School of Nursing in Pine Bluff in December, 1991.

Mary Beth had served as the Director of Provider Relations at Cornerstone Hospital of Little Rock for several years before moving on to serve as Coordinator at UAMS Centers on Aging and Caregiver Training of Pine Bluff  [RN Educator for Schmieding Home Caregiver Training] until September of 2021.  At the present time, Mary Beth was employed as a Home Health Specialist at Kindred at Home.

Mary Beth loved life!  She loved to work in her yard, travel, dance, sing  and hang out with family and friends.  She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone she met with her sweet spirit.  To know her was to truly love her.  Always the life of the party, she would make you laugh until you cried.  Her smile was contagious, and made everyone feel better.  She was a light in this world and will be sorely missed.

Nursing was a true calling in Mary Beth’s life, and she cared for all her patients as though they were her own family.  When she transitioned into the role of “teacher”, she treated her students with the same love, care, and respect with which she would have treated a family member.  Mary Beth was a genuine, compassionate person with a “heart-of-gold”, and was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Mary Beth was preceded in death by her father, Harold Wayne Berry and stepmother, Brenda Berry.  She is survived by husband, Stephen Clark, whom she married on January 13, 2007, her mother, Mary Lou Glover, siblings, Christi Crossett and Todd Berry, two adoring sons, Clint Jackson (Kera), Ryan Jackson (Elizabeth), and her loving stepchildren, Stefanie Riley (Jonathan), Amber Simon (Jesse),  and Chris Clark (Megan).  Of all the important roles she played in the lives of so many, Mary Beth’s favorite was the role of “Nana” to her most cherished grandchildren:  Kinley Grace Jackson, Mary James Jackson, Brooks Jackson, Lily Jackson, Elliott Jackson, Gracie Riley, Jon Wesley Riley, Lexi Simon, and one special little angel “on the way”, Theodore Jackson.  These grandchildren were the sunshine and the joy of Mary Beth’s life, and she loved them with a love that was unconditional and immeasurable.  It is a certainty that her most fervent wish would be for each of them to know that “Nana will always be with you.”

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5:00–7:00 p.m. and funeral is Friday at 1:00 p.m. both at White Hall United Methodist Church.  Rob Walker will officiate the service.  Burial services will be at Grapevine Cemetery in Grapevine, Arkansas. Bro Matt Donnell will officiate.
